Marguerite (de Witt) de Witt-Schlumberger is Notable.
Marguerite de Witt-Schlumberger was a French philanthropist and feminist. She was the president of the French Union for Women's Suffrage.
Born Marguerite Pauline Ernestine de Witt on 20 January 1853, she was the daughter of Conrad Jacob Dionys Cornelis de Witt, a conservative politician of Dutch heritage, and Henriette Elisabeth Guizot, a writer.[1] Through her mother she was the grand-daughter of politician and historian François Guizot. Both her parents belonged to the Protestant religious minority.
Marguerite married Paul Schlumberger, a manufacturer from Guebwiller in Alsace, on 30 June 1876 in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. [1] They had six children, all born in then-German Alsace, but who all moved to France before being required to serve in Germany: Jean, author and editor, founder of the Nouvelle Revue Française (NRF), Conrad, engineer and inventor with his brother Marcel, Maurice, banker, Daniel and Pauline.
Marguerite was active during World War I, creating and maintaining an ambulance in Lisieux for injured soldiers. For this and her other philanthropic activities, she was awarded the Legion of Honour in 1921.[2]

Elle épouse Paul Schlumberger, manufacturier, le 30 juin 1876 à Paris (8ème arrondissement) en présence de Pierre Adolphe Schlumberger, 44 ans, manufacturier à Guebwiller, Paul Frédéric Hickel, avocat à la cour d'appel de Paris, 46 ans, oncles de l'époux, Cornelis Henry de Witt, 47 ans, et Guillaume Maurice Guizot, 43 ans, oncles de l'épouse[1].
